DCM200mP Contamination Detection Monitor

Radioactive contamination is the presence of radioactive substances in our environment, which produce ionizing radiation such as alpha, beta & gamma. The contamination can be present in the air, soil, steel, plants, animals and even human bodies. The radiation can be extremely harmful and must be detected carefully.

The DCM200mP contamination monitor provides effective means for the detection of the above contamination. The pancake Geiger-Muller tube used is a variant of the end-window probe, designed with a high sensitivity and larger detection area to make checking quicker. It can detect Alpha, Beta and Gamma radiation. Because of it’s high sensitivity and wide scanning area, it is most useful in scanning floors, clothes and other objects, such as metal. The pancake is mounted in light weight, comfort fit hand held enclosure, thus, enabling easy and precise measurement. It is externally connected to a readout machine, where the contamination levels can be monitored.

The DCM200mP is a rugged, versatile and very easy to use instrument. The dose rate measurement range is 0.01 mR/hr to 200 mR/hr, with 0.01 mR/hr resolution. The readings can be measured in Roentgen, Sievert, CPS, CPM and Bq/Cm², selectable by the user. It also gives data of accumulated dose incident on the detector. The dose rate and dose data is saved with a time stamp and can be downloaded through a PC interface. The dose rate alarm is settable through out the measurement range. Alarms are indicated by a buzzer and a LED.
